He sold his soul for Rock 'n' Roll.

The maimed and framed, beaten and mutilated Phantom of the Paradise as portrayed by William Finley. This 1974 Brian DePalma film is not only a send-up of the Glam Rock era but also a tribute to such stories as Phantom of the Opera and The Picture of Dorian Gray. Having bombed upon its initial release, Phantom of the Paradise still managed to garner both Golden Globe & Academy Award nominations. More favorably regarded today than in its heyday, this film has a strong cult following.
